“Authenticity is the new currency in business today.” – Vanessa
Known as the woman who went from being bankrupt to making $900 a day selling mops, Vanessa Simpkins is an author, speaker and nature lover passionate about inspiring and empowering transformational breakthroughs in others who are READY to experience more out of life.
By tapping into her extraordinary success while selling live, on stage for a direct-marketing company in large retail chain stores throughout Canada and the USA (including Sears, Hudson Bay Company, Zellers and Canadian Tire), Vanessa has consolidated her practical selling skills and 10-year study of energy psychologies into a powerful guide.
Her first book is called “From Bankrupt to $900 a Day Selling Mops. For Rising Entrepreneurs: How to Mop up on Cash in Any Economy!” Her approach to sales and business is unconventional yet highly effective; she teaches sales as a spiritual practice to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, sales professionals and service professionals to sell more authentically and effectively by mastering the inner and outer principals to lasting wealth and abundance.
Vanessa lives in Quebec Canada.
A Note From Vanessa
4 years traveling North America doing live demo shows selling mops in department stores — not so glamorous. What I learned about cultivating personal power, the ins and outs of sales and marketing, and authenticity as the new currency in business today… priceless!
My passionate and hopeful search to understand authentic living has taken many forms, including a year-and-a-half trek through South East Asia where I discovered Yoga, 5 years studying and practicing acupressure and and Chinese medicine, and finally a book about my own transformational breakthrough to success.
I’ve been guided to teach and give back what I’ve learned on my decade-long study of emotional and financial wellness. I love creating video tips on my blog, I do personal coaching with creative entrepreneurs helping them unlock the keys to their own personal power and authenticity and I teach experiential workshops on how to “break the cycle”, how to let go of the past and reprogram our subconscious beliefs so we are inspired and empowered with the right tools to create the juicy, exciting lives that dreams are made of.
I’ve been called a gypsy, a fly by the seat of your pants type of gal because I’ve done a lot of traveling, and getting lost, and breaking down before having a breakthrough. We can only reinvent ourselves when we give ourselves the permission to explore the good the bad and the ugly.
The problem with society is that it indoctrinates and brainwashes its members to buy buy buy their way to happiness. So we go out and run the gamut and replace money as our God, or Sex, or the new Mercedes and then finally after all this work, all this stress all this toil we get the goods and we still aren’t happy. Then we wonder “what’s wrong with me?”
There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s just that we’ve never been taught how to deal with or manage our emotions and emotions run our lives. So a big part of my work involves teaching others how to do exactly this. How to reclaim our personal power. How to access our happiness again. Because it’s always there underneath all the crap and all the years of suppressed lies we feed ourselves and believe about ourselves.
FREEDOM is a big part of my mission. Emotional freedom, financial freedom, personal freedom.
I learned that firsthand from my dad, late Canadian landscape painter Ron Simpkins. I am the daughter of a famous artist, actually there is an entire family legacy about the famous artists in my family. You can find out more about their work, prints for sale and the family story here www.SimpkinsART.com
My father was and still is a huge inspiration in my life. He had the courage to be truly different, to follow his passion, to create beauty and enjoy beauty, to be free… and powerfully connected to nature – the source of all life. My father the artist died outside with a smile on his face after 66 years of doing what he loved the most – painting nature. Mission accomplished. When I die, I want to have a smile on my face too. I want to know that I spent my time here living my purpose with passion.
Dad always said “kiddo figure out what you love to do and do it”. He was a simple man. Sometimes I think he really was not of this world. He didn’t care what others thought of him, always walking around with paint covered clothes driving beaten up old vans and such. His value was not wrapped up in material things. So I learnt a lot from my father about the important things in life. Like following your passion, and being free and doing what you love and letting this authentic part of ourselves guide us on that path to success.

Vanessa changed my life in ways I can’t even begin to describe! Before I met her I was totally dissatisfied with my life, I was deeply in debt and hopped from job to job. Since then I’ve quadrupled my income, skyrocketed my confidence, I’ve lived my dream and traveled to Hawaii and most of all I know now, really know how to manifest whatever I want. Thank you bottom of my heart!
